Special Shami/Kurdish breed rooster

Here on BYC and in the UK there seems to be a craze for Silkies. I really don't understand it. I would rather have chickens like those in your pictures.
Yes, I noticed it too.
I love my chickens, they are a special breed (since I posted a thread about the breed type, I was told that they are a local special breed to my region). I also prefer mine :)

Oh my, what beautiful birds.

Here is a few of my roosters.

Not so different than my own. Your bird is just a typical asil type bird common from the middle east through the Indian subcontinent, into Southeast Asia to Japan. It is the Asil in Pakistan and India, the Thai Game in Thailand, the Ga Noi Don in Vietnam, and the Shamo in Japan. All very similar, most likely having a common ancestor. Historical texts have this bird in Persia, thousands of years ago.

I wish pictures would turn put. I looked at my phoenix/polish cross and came to the conclusion they were not worth taking a picture of. The picture shows another cross, phoenix/serama. I am hopeful this cockerel will be what I am hoping for. For his age (6-8 weeks old) his tail is quite long and full.(which the picture does not show) .
