My girls love cucumbers, zucchini, grass and strangely tortilla shells - it's actually quite funny watching them run around with pieces of tortilla shells in the mouth lol

Is there anything I should not give my chicks. They range between 4 wks and 9 wks. They don't seem to want anything but dried meal worms

Reading this makes me worried. My chicks are 6 -7 weeks old. I have TRIED to offer them treats but they are not the slightest bit interested. I've tried fruit and lots of leafy greens from the veggie patch. They won't even eat bread or sultana cake I offered them. Could they simply be too young?
As I child I remember out chickens eating everything! With 2 young children we have a lot of wasted food I was hoping the chickens would eat in addition to their crumbles.

Did you have to teach them to eat these foods?

My meat chickens dont touch anything but their normal store bought feed. My layers which are about 18 weeks old eat everything except cantalope. Do you let your chickens free range? Mine wouldnt eat many treats until they started free ranging. My favorite treat for them is crickets. I get a dozen for a buck at the local pet place. Its hilarious to watch.
