Yesterday I received my two goslings in the mail. They're healthy and seem to be doing great. (They're giants for three days old but they are Embdens so I guess that is to be expected) They are exceptionally calm, which I hear is very normal, but they are also very mouthy. It doesn't hurt, and it doesn't particularly bother me because from what I know about raising other baby animals (foals, puppies, kids (of the goat variety)) I figure they're just using their mouths to explore the world because they're so new to it.

My problem is I can't seem to find any specific information on behaviors in young goslings. Like when is the biting too much? Or what does it mean when they make this sort of sound? There is plenty of information in on the internet and even in the book I own about keeping goslings alive and comfortable but I'd like to understand them at least some what. Does anyone have any tips on good books or sites that I could get my hands on? Or any personal advice? I got my ducklings when they were older so I didn't have to go through this.

I'm new to geese as well, and you're right, not too much online about gosling behavior. What really helped me out was reading through this forum. Seriously, I read the most recent posts and went through the previous threads all the way to page 90-something.
