Speckled brown egg question

Hello, I'm new to the board so sorry if this is a repeat of a past question but I didn't find anything in my searches.
We have 4 hens and we know that 2 of them are laying since we are getting 1 brown and 1 white egg with them skipping about every third day. They have only been laying for a couple of weeks. Today, I expected a "skip" day but when I checked the box, there was 1 brown speckled egg. The other brown eggs have been very solid brown with no speckles and uniform in size and shape. This one today is speckled with red and a different shape than the other brown eggs. I know the eggs won't change color, but can they become speckled and change shape or do I have a third hen laying eggs finally?

It could be either. Eggs can and do change in shade or speckles. Or you have a new layer. Only way to tell for sure is see who comes out of the box after the egg is laid or see it being laid.
