Hello Everyone
I have been getting the prettiest speckled eggs from my layer pen lately. I am not sure who is laying them, but I have BBS Marans, Welsummers, EE, Cuckoo Marans, Buff Orpingtons, Olive Eggers, and Delawares. I am hesitant to believe they are coming from my welsummers or BBS because they just started laying a month ago and these eggs are fairly large. I could be wrong though
I am tempted to put them in the incubator since they are so pretty - I have Olive Egger, Welsummer, BBS Maran, and Cuckoo Marans roosters in the pen.
With all of these possibilities, what is the likelihood that a chick hatching from these speckled eggs would carry the gene? Temptation may get the best of me and I might do it either way
But I am trying to be picky since I am focusing on breeding for egg color this upcoming season.
