Speckled egg?

One of my hen just laid a nice brown egg...with darker brown speckles....is that normal?

What do the speckles mean?

Some hens do lay a speckled egg. Our Delaware always lays a brown egg with brown speckles.

We have a hen that lays light brown eggs with white flecks and one of our hens is giving us pale green with white speckles. I think it means they are more talented. I am thinking of contacting the Chicago Art Institute.

I jest. We do get speckled/flecked eggs though.
