My Speckled Sussex chicks are 8 weeks old now. Have taken new photos of them and it looks like Pullets No. 1., 5. and 7. have been guessed correctly. Roos are numbers 2. and 8. I am not sure about numbers 3., 4. and 6. yet. Hoping for pullets of course :) What do you think? (P.S. The numbering of birds has been the same as for the previous photos, I hope I didn't mix up the birds by accident.)

Hello everyone! The majority who said 1,5 and 7 are the only pullets were completely right! All of the others were roos. So 5 roos and 3 pullets. Didn't have the oppurtunity for later photos however, I think that it's still valuable info here. For the next generation of chicks at least :) I have rehomed 4 roosters and all of them have gained a flock of their own hens. I have kept Roo No.2 and all of the pullets. Thank You all for your input and hopefully spring will bring new chicks from these birds :)

Hello everyone. Just wanted to share how my chickens look at 4 months - one Speckled Sussex rooster and 3 Speckled Sussex pullets. The faces of pullets have only just started reddening. The sexes at this age are easily distinguishable.
