Can anyone in Australia help identify what exactly speckled sussex look like as day olds?
We should definitely have some in this batch. Along with gold laced x speckled sussex. And light sussex x speckled sussex.
But it really appears to me that potentially American & Australian speckled look different? At least when I google I get completely different results.
This is my first batch of them. 🫣

American Speckled Sussex. She was probably around 3-4 days old in this picture. They are chipmunk striped here.
Okay interesting!! The vast majority of my batch should be full speckled (my speckled hen has a peculiar nesting spot so I'm able to know which eggs are hers), and we have mostly these chipmunk colours. So seems likely those are the speckled! Some of the Australian sites I've looked at selling day olds are very light in colour with no striping etc. Which seems a little odd to me 🤣
