nearly a week ago our speckled sussex mama has gone broody and is sitting on about 9 eggs. i candled this morning and most of them seem to be developing just fine, our rooster is a buff cochin a little over a year old and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how the chicks would turn out? i’m not too experienced in chicken breeding, i’ve only had chickens for about a year. any ideas? :)

They won’t have mottling (white spots of the sussex) in the first generation due to it being a recessive gene. They’ll probably be in between the color of the Sussex and the cochin.

Look up "chicken genetics calculator", and theres barely simple one out there that can help you, I use it all the time :)
