I’ve got a Speckled Sussex rooster and 9 hens.

1 white chantecler
1 black australorp
4 black sex link
2 barred rock

Wondering if anyone has an idea of what the outcome of these mixes will look like. Thanks
Speckled sussex x white chantecler - depends on whether the chantecler has dominant or recessive white (which you won’t know until you breed them) in the case of dominant white, the offspring should be red with white tail and hackle feathers. The cross could possibly be sex-linked if the chantecler carries silver(?)
Speckled sussex x black australorp- mostly black chicks or entirely black chicks with red leakage
Speckled sussex x black sex link - offspring could vary from entirely black, black with some red leakage, black with almost half of the body covered in red leakage, and/or red columbian (color of Rhode Island reds) with some messy black patterning
Speckled sussex x barred rock - cockerels that are black barred with some silver or red leakage and pullets that are entirely black or black with red leakage

The mottling (white spots) of the speckled sussex are recessive and won’t show up in first generation crosses. However, if the offspring are crossed to each other, 25% of their offspring will be mottled. And, if the speckled sussex x’s are crossed back to a speckled sussex or another mottled bird, 50% of their offspring will be mottled.

Any chance you have adult pix of your first cross? The GLW x SS? Just beautiful!!!

I think I have some pictures. Unfortunately, she died earlier this year. We kept loosing chickens none stop. Like we had lost 3 in a week, would fine some dead in the area, coop, and so on. I’ll definitely see if I have pictures. I’m sad I lost her she was one of the first I bred.
