I have some speckled Sussex that are only 5 weeks but I’m curious gender. Three seems like an obvious roo as big comb that’s red. It’s the only one that has red. The second one has no wattles to speak of but the comb is much bigger than many of the chicks I have of this breed. Also it has a lot of white on the front and I’ve heard that’s often a roo quality. It’s fairly small though but could be a late bloomer. Number one has wattles and a comb but no color but it’s big so thinking roo. What does everyone think?

I'm a bit on the fence, but 1 & 3 could well be cockerels, whereas with 2 I'm more inclined to pullet.
Can you update in a couple more weeks?

I would agree with ☝️
Our SS's did mature quick though, both had combs and wattles around 6/7 weeks and both laid the prettiest eggs, so it's tough at this point to make certain what you have, but it does seem to lean 2 out of 3 to say Cockerel, fingers crossed we are mistaken!

Thx for sharing. Sounds like they can be tricky.
