Speckled sussex Hen or Roo?

I now believe its a hen. My 2 sure-to-be-roos have allready been crowing for a month allready and ive heard no crow from this one. She's also relaxed and likes to be held, and when i try to pick up the roosters; BOK BOK BOOOKKK BOK BOK BOK BBBAAAAWWWKKKK!!!!!!

Well I have a question then?
I have a pen full of roos, and only 3 hens, all my hens are like sissy little to no comb, and yellowish pinkish barely any wattles.
Do these birds mature differently from different breeders? all mine came from cackle, PP order, and my baby roos are showing alot of comb and wattles at not quite 8 weeks, I'll take a couple pictures tonight and post em, so you can see the difference in mine. still wondering tho why some females seem to have a male comb and wattles?

Ive noticed that with SS's, the ones with more white on thier head and chest are roos. many SS's hens have large combs and waddles. Dont count on tail feathers too much to tell gender, my hen has larger tail feathers than my roo! If you need anymore help, just ask! I check this topic all the time!

also agree with that.......

SS can be hard to tell because ALOT of the hens do have big combs & wattles compared to other breeds. And they tend to have borderline roo body carriage.

I have 10 speckled Sussex, straight run...so I got the girls and the guys.
This one looks like a dude to me, based off the ones I have raised.
Looks like a ROO!

I keep looking and comparing this roo/hen and from the many many pictures I have seen and my SS as well I still think thats a rooster.
heres is sissy at 18 weeks

Hello Everyone

I bought three hatchery chicks to go along with my first attempt at hatching. I was convinced I would only have one chick to hatch, (I had 4), so I bought 3 from a hatchery. I picked three breeds I didn't all ready have from what was available to ship out right away. I bought a White Maran, a Speckled Sussex, and an Austra White. The first time I ordered from a hatchery all female, I ended up getting a mis sexed roo. He turned out to be very human aggressive, and I had to get rid of him.

I think I may have gotten another mis sexed rooster. The Speckled Sussex is 5 weeks old, and I am all ready sensing a comb and waddles growing. I'm bummed, I don't need another rooster. I realize they are only 5 weeks, but can anyone give me an early indication on what they think? I read in another roo/hen ss thread there is a difference in body shape with the males, but I cant remember if it was the longer body, or a rounded one for the SS male.

Any input is greatly appreciated

Here "she/he" is...
