Speckled Sussex or Welsummer?

If it's a Speckled Sussex I'd be more then happy to take it off your hands

I really wanted a Speckled Sussex but Ideal was already sold out of them when I placed my order. You're 173 miles away from me. That's a little far to drive. hehe. I have 4 Welsummer that are 4 weeks old. I think one's a roo though, because it's feathering out a lot slower than my other Welsummers. I'm rambling lol
Anyway, it does look like some of my EE babies. Especially the color of the feet. It's a mystery chick! You'll just have to wait and see until it starts feathering out. Good Luck!

LOL Maev I already have 5 SS I love them they have such fun personalities. The only way I wouldn't keep it is if it turns out to be a roo. If you want to make the drive Western World in Longview has a bunch there still. Thats where he got ours last July.

Lots of chickens start out with that chipmunk coloration. The single combs, yellow legs, and lack of beard tufts all point to Welsummers. I wouldn't worry.

hmmm, 164 miles to Longview...$64 in gas round trip...How many chicks would I have to buy to make it worth it? LOL

I'm no expert, but that looks like a pea-comb to me. Combined with the (?)slate colored legs and coloration, I think you have a duck-wing Easter Egger!

Definately NOT a Welsummer !!!! The eyeliner is too thin, only in one color Beak should be of horn color. I can see the single combs on both Wellie girls but this one does not have points, looks smoother than the others.
The one on the bottom left is the one in question. Its hard to see but you can tell the feet are different color too.

side view of her

She is the one on the left. Her back is a different color too.

In the bin there were I think 8 to 10 different breeds.A few of the breed names were crossed off. The ones I remember that were not and that could be a possibility for this chick were Ameraucana, Speckled Sussex, and Welsummer. We will see as time goes on what she ends up to be. Just hoping its NOT a roo.

Thanks everyone for the input!

It was a nice warm day today so I took the chicks outside to get a better look at them. Now I think I am seeing different colored feet in the two that are suppose to be the Wellies. Do these look to pink to be Wellies feet? I think Chick A's foot is pinker then chick B. Yes, I know I am impatient, sorry. Just a bit irritated with the feed store people for their lack of knowledge in the chick breeding. They should not have had 8 to 10 different breeds in the same bin and not have anyone working that can tell the difference between them. Now I am too attached to them to do anything about it. Ugh sorry for ranting
Chick A's foot

Chick B's foot

and the suspected EE's foot just because its so cute.
