Well, I took the plunge and got 4 chicks for the first time. They're doing well aside from a bit of pasty butt/diarrhea. They came from Privett Hatchery Inc. as pullets along with some sexed Rhode Island Reds as well, so there's a strong case that they're all female, correct?

I'm really excited to watch them grow up. Is there anything in particular that I should know about this breed? They're about a week old now.

All of my sexed hatchery chicks were the correct sex, so I say you should be good. it's only a 90% chance though, so don't be surprised if a little roo slipped through the cracks!

I was guaranteed 95% for her to be a pullet. I know it’s still early probably around 3 weeks old but does she look like a pullet?

Ok I think I got my chicks mixed up, does she look more like a Welsummer? I will have to get a better picture of the one I now believe is a speckled Sussex. They looked very similar at a few days old.

Any thoughts as to if she looks like a pullet?

Here she is at around 7 weeks, I’m thinking pullet. The comb is lighter in real life than it shows in the picture. I’m not seeing wattles.
