Please, someone tell me what we may be needing in the diet of my girls. No rooster so I don't have fertilized eggs. They are in their own house so a staying rooster can get to them. They are small and few, but are little brown flecks. There is more info on my last posting at 2:15. I want to make sure that I can eat them, in which I have been. And what I might need to do for my birds.

It is fine to eat the eggs. Some hens are more likely to have a blood spot or freckles in the egg than others. It is not uncommon. The longer you keep hens for eggs the more things you will see that are perfectly natural and normal.

thanks, I just wanted to know that it was alright. I appreciate the sharing of experience and advise. I have only had them for a year and love almost every minute of it. don't like scooping frozen poop out of the chicken house in the winter. Julie
