I have some general behavior questions for everyone. I'm noticing the pecking order of my three two week old BO and Australorp girls who are roughly 2-2.5 weeks old now.

My dominant BO (Beatrice) loves to climb on the ladder and flap her wings - understandably stretching her wings. When she does this, the low girl on the totem pole (other BO - Nelly) races around the brooder all scrunched down as low as possible and always heads to one corner. It looks like she's totally freaked out by the flapping of wings. My Aussie (Callista) will run like this too but generally toward Beatrice. I'm curious of the opinion of folks on this board as to why each girl does this. Is this a totally normal behavior in juveniles?

I've also noticed that when I put my hand in, they will start stopping their feet. Some have said that old girls will do this to indicate "crushes" on a rooster but I wonder if my girls are too young yet to show their affection toward a surrogate rooster - me.

They are happy and healthy, however I worry about bordem setting in. They've got a ladder and large piece of doweling to jump around on but wondered if they needed anything else to play with.
