Sometimes you get one like that. The picking on the other chicks usually stops within a couple days.

Do you have separate hygrometers/thermometers in your bator? Sounds like your temp and humidity may have been off a bitThank you so much. I will definitely keep that in mind. We ordered these from a seller on ebay. Honestly, I didn't really have high expectations, because they didn't even start pipping until day 20. I did read that the shipping process could delay the hatching by 2-3 days because of all the jostling. I will admit though, that the longer it was taking, the more my hopes went down the drain.
Oh good. I was hoping I wouldn't have to separate the little stinker.Sometimes you get one like that. The picking on the other chicks usually stops within a couple days.
I don't, but I really wish we had done that. We will definitely buy one next time we decide to incubate eggs. We have chickens as well, and I've been considering breeding my mille fleur d'uccle pair. I've also gone back and forth between incubating those eggs or letting my baby girl hatch them herself.Do you have separate hygrometers/thermometers in your bator? Incubator instruments can be off out of the box. They can also have cold spots. There are some really good articles here that will help calibrate your instruments.I don't, but I really wish we had done that. We will definitely buy one next time we decide to incubate eggs. I think it may be a while before we decide to hatch anything else. We have 17 chickens, the youngest are 5 weeks old, the "teenagers" are 15 weeks old and the oldest are 22 weeks. It's alot just with them. Now we have these teeny little cuties, and more may possibly hatch. Lol. I'm not sure I can handle much more than these. The official Halloween hatch-along is coming up…..maybe that would be a good time for a second hatch!
