Spiderbite maybe? Suspicious death...

I've just had a 10 week old silkie pullet die for no reason. I am thinking spiderbite - though I couldn't find any swollen or broken skin, I noticed she was limping only a little the night before and brought her inside to the garage and put her in a box and the next day - poof! Gone. I'm just a little um, unnerved, seeing as it's winter and it could have been infectious. Then again, we used to have a problem with funnelwebs, being in Australia and all...

I checked for mites, lice, etc. Not a trace! no discharge, some normallish poop (bit on the watery side) but for the life of me I'm about to just write it off as "genetic defect" (joking.)

I searched the area and found hardly anything, a few abandoned spider holes. Puzzling...
