I was just going to ask you if they ever eat your vegetables...

Guess that answers my question.

We have a bad Japanese beetle problem where we are and I have tried everything to keep them away.

I was thinking about putting the fencing around the garden and making a coop for the ducks so the ducks can do pest control.

I don't know if ducks or chickens would be better.
We used to live in VA and I can sympathize with your japanese beetle dilemma! First we had the japanese lady bugs, which were brought in to save the forests from the gypsy moths, and they were just everywhere. Then they brought in the japanese beetles to control the lady bugs, and they got out of control. The difference was, I could take a hand vac to the lady bugs, but not the beetles. Those had to picked up gently and moved outside or they would stink! So I wondered what they would bring in to control the beetles, and I looked it up. The natural predator of the japanese beetle is an aggressive wasp. I knew it was time to move. :lau
