I was wondering how much you sell your yarn for? I was looking for some hand spun wool yarn for a weaving project that I was working on and I could not find GOOD yarn at a price that I was willing to pay. I am not above spending money on good quality yarns but I wasn't about to spend that kind of money on inferior yarn just because it was hand spun. So I figures that I would ask here and see what you sell yours for.

Um, well it really depends on what type of fiber you want....
Certain types are going to cost a bunch more than others.
I am spinning up some pure Angora rabbit right now, take a look on Etsy and see what the price per skein on Angora is, it's high. Alternatively, go look at the price of an Angora sweater, some are over $500.00.
You're looking for wool? What type? Pure wool or with something else blended in? Something fancy or plain? A solid colour or a handpainted masterpiece?
Most things artisan or handmade are going to be costly, lots of time goes into it. My finished Angora yarn will have taken a ton of my time (and money) to make, all of the feeding/cleaning/grooming the rabbit, then the hand plucking of the fiber itself and finally the spinning into yarn. Then if I decided to dye it or not. You must take into consideration that alot of these people are raising the animal that the yarn came from.

When you start to break it down it can really vary...
What's your price range and how much do you need?

Oh believe me I know the work that goes into the spinning. Shearing, cleaning, carding, spinning, dying. I know what goes into it. I tried it before and have left that to people who are better at it, and more patient than I am. I am not grumping about the price for good quality yarns. It's just that around here I have not been able to find yarns that are acceptable for the type of weaving that I wanted to do. I was looking for pain wool or soft wool blend, solid colors & 5-10mm thickness. Preferably a smooth yarn with little lumps in it. I know that the lumps are a sign of a hand made yarn but it kind of messes up the weaving that I want to try. The yarns that I have found around here are of not good quality - they pull apart way to easy when I try to weave. I am looking in the $1.00 to $35.00 range for 2oz skeins. As to how much, it depends on the colors I can get.

Well I was shopping locally because like you I like to touch what I am buying. I like to see it and feel it. I am not apposed to buying on line and since I have been expanding my search there I have found a couple of places I am interested in contacting. I was going to try here first before I did that.
As to the type of weaving that I like to do I really like the Native American rugs. I do my own versions of some of the designs that I see. This was done on my small loom. I am waiting for the other half to help me build my big loom that I want. I was wanting to do this one again but make it about 2' x3.5'.
