Smokey's leg caught against a branch under the mud, and she used it to gain some leverage, pulling herself nearly to standing before she fell back again. She stilled, panting to get her breath back again.

Storm stood up and got free of the mud. The heavy rain helped wash the mud off him and started to loosen the thick mud.

Thunder Storm pulled hard and finally his front legs whipped out of the mud. He then worked on getting his hind legs out
