Splash ameraucana chick- leg color question

I just wanted to follow up on this: their legs did indeed turn to slate. It's not as dark a slate as my blue and black ameraucanas but it's still there. My splash chickens are not well splashed though so I think I'm going to mix things up and stop breeding for splash. I'll put my black ameraucana rooster back with the hens and use my splash to breed blue sex linked olive eggers instead.
