Just had an Australorp chick hatch, it took the poor thing three days where the rest of the eggs took like an hour, tops. Saw why this morning--its legs aren't quite right. The feet come together to almost touch under the body. So that the chick's making a diamond shape with its legs.
The chick is very vocal and seems to want to get around, and both legs DO move, it just can't get them positioned right. Is this something potentially correctable or do I need to let this chick go? I do have access to medical tape and such if needed (I'm a vet tech so fixing animals is kinda my job!).
