I noticed this poor guy walking funny so I brought him inside. I noticed that he sits like this. Is this splay leg? I started him on vitamin water. There’s no avian vet near me and I’ve never seen this before so I wanted guidance from someone with more knowledge.

How old is he? Do you have other roosters? Could he have been injured fighting or jumping from a high roost? Can you separate him in a pen or dog crate near food and water? Offer him fluids with electrolytes or sugar water right up to his beak. Can he stand if you lift him up? Do his toes curl under? Does he sit on his hocks. Was he vaccinated for Mareks disease?

He only sat that way when we first moved him. He can get up and walk a little. He can fly short distances as well. After straightening himself he sits normal looking. He is very alert just prefers not to move much. He’s eating and drinking fine. He is 7 weeks old. I have him inside the house in a cage. It’s definitely possible that he was injured by another chick in the run with him. I had that thought as well but hadn’t seen any of them messing with him. I just started opening the run and letting them free range in the backyard so he could have hurt himself.
