Splay-legged chick not looking so good - please help!

One of our cochin hens hatched 5 baby chicks and then abandoned the rest of the nest. Problem was, they weren't done hatching - yesterday morning I went in the coop to find two babies had hatched on their own and were cold and near-dead... I got them under a heat lamp immediately, not expecting them to make it. One had his neck completely tipped back, as if it were broken. Both had splay legs and couldn't stand or walk. Surprisingly, they started to improve and perk up; they took a little sugar water from an eyedropper and began scratching around. I held the one with the strange neck in the right position, and after about a half-hour of this he began to hold his head the right way himself. Things were looking pretty good for awhile, but after a few hours they ceased to improve.
Sadly, we lost the strange-neck one this morning (he was never looking too good - was much more lethargic than the other chick). The second one shows an interest in pecking and is eager to drink. He's quite alert and peeps when he sees you. We put a band-aid brace on his splayed legs, and I was pretty confident he'd be alright, but now he's laying on his stomach with his legs straight out behind him, not tucked under him like they should be with the brace. He's sleeping quite a bit - he'll perk up if you wake him, but still sleeping too much... he's pooping, but it's quite runny.
Sometimes he tries to stand, but ends up flopping over. His leg gets a terrible tremor when he does this.
To add to the drama, one of the other abandoned eggs hatched last night. That chick looks great, he's up and about, eating and drinking.
My questions:
Should I separate the two? Does the splay-legged chick possibly have some sort of disease, or is he just having a hard time because of his difficult birth?
And is there any chance for Mr. Splay-leg? Is it possible I just need to wait a few days...? I'm trying to be optimistic, I'd hate to see him go.

Are you giving him any vitamin supp's? If not I would get some poly-vi-sol childrens vitamins(liquid) and give a drop or two in his beak or in water (use sugar until you can get vitamins). This will help give him strength. Also some scrambled eggs, crumbled in little bits for him to eat will help. He is prob. weak from his ruff start. There is still hope - best wishes

Huh - What should I do if he's not showing interest in the scrambled eggs? He's pecking around... just ignoring them. I tried to hold him and put some near/on the tip of his beak, hoping he'd take a nibble, but he wouldn't.
