Splayed Leg Fix with Zip Ties !

This is a first for me. Looks like I have a chick with Splayed leg. To fix it I decided to try using 3 - 4” zip ties. Here are some photos. Looks to be doing the trick and will be much easier to remove compared to tape.


I will update in a couple days how it worked hopefully it does the trick.

Don’t use zip ties use a band-Aid! Rap the sticky part of the side around one leg and do the same for the other!!

Here is someone you can watch! Good thinking on the zip ties! If I had a chick with splay legs I would go crazy!

I think anything would be uncomfortable. I’m sure taking the bandaid off doesn’t feel so good especially with feathered feet. These are FBCM part of the reason I decided to not use a bandaid.

They have feather feet! Well good job fixing her!

Update:
It worked!! I left the center zip tie on for 2.5 days. When I took the center tie off he was alittle wobbly but I think that was just adjusting to “freedom walking”. Day after taking the center zip off he/she is walking around nicely even with some speed and no sign of his splayed leg giving way. Glad it worked out for the little bugger!!
