I have a Pekin whose lower bill is split, by split I mean center (vertical) from tip to where it connects. I've no idea how this happened, I am concerned about it happening to other Pekins I have.

I've no idea what to do for the dang thing. I'm not taking it to a vet. I wish I could stitch it back together. I am considering using wire and tying it together under the bill, but it will just slip off.

It's about 3 months old. I've it separated. Is there anything I could do to increase its chance of living for another 3 months?

Anyone have any experience taking a bird to a vet? What's a round about cost figure? I don't even know if I could find a avian vet or wildlife rehabilitator locally.

These birds were not bought for the intention of being pets. If I killed it, I don't know if it'd be worth the effort at 3 months.

Once a birds beak is split or damaged you can not repair it. So you must then determine weather or not this duck can feed itself.
If the duck can feed itself then allow it to do so and carry on the way that it is.
If the duck can not feed itself be kind enough to put it down.
