Split Wing in Silkies

Does my little paint silkie on the right have split wing? She is the most sweet and cuddly of them all. Her wings look different, pretty but not sure if its a "good thing" or not. :(

It might just have something to do with how it's being held.

Though it may be split wing... I BELIEVE it's too early to tell.

I wait until they are closer to 6 months usually.

I also breed paint Silkies! :love

Those are little cuties. If you plan to breed, there are other aspects I would consider in addition to the possible split wing. Like the incorrect beak color. Some of mine will get a pink toenail here or there. And I don't like red combs. Although I do believe in keeping the best stock possible.. I also realize that paint is a project color and will still need some kinks worked out to meet the SOP (that will eventually take place). But they are so much fun! :wee

Yeah, one has pink feet and a pink beak. I swear Olivia has olive color skin. That can't be right... But they are so incredibly sweet.... Do spots slowly develop over time or are they the color they were born with? I am still wondering if the dark grey is a blue or a black with silver leakage. I was wanting a black with silver leakage but I can't tell what it is...

I read that they are hatched with their spots already as much as they will ever get.

However, that is not my total experience. So I don't know that the spots continue to come in or not (probably not) but they do seem to come in more clearly and robust with time... on some of them. My boys spots are under his looser feathers so they don't look as defined or distinct as my pullet, and likely never will.

I cull blacks for silver leakage, though it does look cool. Did you post a pic already that I missed?
