Spoiled chicken

I'm just subscribing out of curiosity lol... But I would say...no. They poop in their food AND in their bed lol... I would go with saying that an animal can only be potty trained if they CARE if there's poop in their food lol ;)

But I'm all ears for an interesting discussion ha-ha :D

Well they first thing to figure out is if they even KNOW they're going lol... Do they know, or is it involuntary?....

Weird, this is the second discussion today focusing on poop... I need to lay off BYC lol :D

If you ever come up with a solution, let me know!

I would absolutely love to have a potty trained house chicken.....I know, that's weird, but I am DEFINITELY having house ducks someday no matter what. A few weeks ago, the opportunity arose to keep my Blue Runner in the house (with a diaper, of course), but my dad wouldn't allow it. His reasoning was that it seemed kind of unsanitary.

What drew me to click on this thread was the title "Spoiled Chicken", and I was going to tell on my SUPER spoiled Barred Rock girl; however, I guess that isn't what this thread is about.

Lol... Don't lose hope... I do know that it seems like I never have gotten pooped on when I'm holding them, just when they roost on my shoulder... And I let one into our camper every once in a while (I have to sneak her in, DH says "NO EGG LAYING IN CAMPER"... But I let her in anyway lol)... And she lays an egg, but never do find any poop...

I had a parrot once...he had " free range" in my house, and he seemed to always go to the same spot on the curtain rod and poop on the wall... But he also never pooped ON me while I was holding him...

Maybe they won't poop in the house if you hold them constantly? :P

Need that baby sling lol :D

I'm sorry ROFL I'm trying to be serious and witty, but I keep thinking of the scene in "Open Season" where Boog is needing to poo but embarrassed in public, and Eliott just poops right there on the spot.... Yep. :D

So TBird told you about the infamous "chick and duckling sling".

I carried my Silver Spangled Hamburg girl in it for a short time-she never pooped in it, by the way-and TBird carried my 2 Cayugas and Blue Runner in it when they were little. But at the moment that sling is currently in use by my baby brother, so maybe the answer is simply to buy another one specifically for the birds!

Rofl oh but of course!! NOTHING is secret on the internet :D

It made me think though...(uh-oh).... If they don't want to poop on THEMSELVES, then maybe they CAN be trained... I never thought I'd see a cat using a human loo, but lo and behold, they do....

It would take some serious time spent ...with a chicken ;)
