Spoiled chicken

Rofl oh but of course!! NOTHING is secret on the internet

It made me think though...(uh-oh).... If they don't want to poop on THEMSELVES, then maybe they CAN be trained... I never thought I'd see a cat using a human loo, but lo and behold, they do....

It would take some serious time spent ...with a chicken

Should I be embarrassed that I spend a few hours a day with the girls

(and boys, can't forget the boys

)? We have considered potty training the cats before, because it would cut back on "kitty crunch" all over the floor and unpleasant odors. Leave it to me to be strange.....

Chicken diapers..... not very dignified though.
Rofl look at the expression on that hens face! Lol they ARE cute, but wow I would never live out the ridicule from the DH... They have different patterns though, that's thoughtful ;)

Well they first thing to figure out is if they even KNOW they're going lol... Do they know, or is it involuntary?....

Weird, this is the second discussion today focusing on poop... I need to lay off BYC lol :D

I think they are aware that they are going. I used to have a hen that would not poop on me when I held her, but as soon as she was placed back on the ground she would go. We were very close and I felt like she understood that it was unpleasant to poop on humans.

I feel like chickens can hold it. And they are smart enough that I'm confident they could be potty trained. With enough patients and plenty of treats, I really think this is something that could be achieved.
Interesting topic indeed!

Lol so it all boils down to whether or not they WANT to poop on you?.. Sounds about right ha-ha...

And just when I was gloating that my chickens have nevervpooped on me, I went and snagged my roo out of the coop last night for a snuggle, and he pooped on me! :D

He was scared, it was dark. Not his fault lol... But I did put him back right after that ha-ha...

Defense mechanism? :P

Ha ha ha! Poor Big Bird.

My chickens don't really poop on me, with the exception of Alex a couple days ago.

Don't really know what triggered it, but oh well.

Oh, speaking of poop (which seems to be a common conversation piece), I was out in the garden today, and somehow managed to get a huge glob of cold, goopy, tar-like chicken poop in between my foot and flip flop. Needless to say, it squished all over my heel and resisted being rinsed off. That's the first time I've ever been grossed out by chicken poop!

Huh. I don't know. My girls tend to squat a little when they poo, so it seems like they know, just don't care about the where. They never pooped in their food, but then again, these are the same chickens that will root around in the old bedding pile full of poop looking for bugs...
