Spoiled Christmas Chickens...pics included!

Our chickens certainly are spoiled, aren't they????

On Chirstmas morning, Olivia "decorated" the ornaments we'd made a few days earlier (a modified homemade dog biscuit recipe) with organic peanut butter and scratch.

Then we hung them on the littel Charlie Brown tree that the farmer gave us when we cut down our big Christmas tree.

We let the girls out and they went right over and started chowing! Merry Christmas, girls!! I felt like Tasha Tudor!

WOW! I have to try that. We have minature trees that stay 3 feet tall "I call them mini christmas trees". That looks awesome. BTW your over spoiling them lol j/k

What recipe did you use?

I did a web search for "homemade dog cookies" and ended up winging it based on several recipes. It had: whole wheat flour, organic oats, a bit of chicken broth, a bit of grated cheese, a tiny splash of oil, and a beaten egg. I think that's about it. The dough was a stiff cookie-dough consistency. We baked them until they started getting browned.

The whole idea was to make something that was totally edible, that would hang on the branches without need of wire or string which might hurt them. It worked pretty well!
