Sport chicken?

Ok what is a sport chicken? I have read post that talk about sport chicks and I have read on barred rocks can have a sport chick is this a odd ball chick?

A "sport" is a chick of a different color than the parents. Say you breed to black birds together and get a white chick. Thus you have a "sport." Sports are how alot of different colors variations came about throught the years. They are cause by mutated genes or hidden genes.

Thank you that is what I had came up with but just wonted to check
