Sportsman for $300.... Should I do it?

Hey, if you turn out you hate it later, turn around and sell it on Ebay! There are a lot of people that are bidding on things like that.

If I were you and looking for a bator, I would do it no matter what!

I'm just one of those people that will not put up with low ballers. I do my research beforehand and price my things accordingly. Someone that comes up with less money gives me the impression that they can't afford it to begin with. My family gives me crap all the time at swaps that I am the only one with a price list and signs up on any of the birds for sale. If someone comes up and offers less, then they just get a polite no thanks and turned away. If they keep coming back with more offers, then they don't get whatever it is I have at any price. I have the same philosophy when I buy things. If I can't afford their asking price, I keep on walking.

And yes the silkies are doing awesome. Had a show a couple weeks ago and one of my white pullets went up on championship row. 143 featherlegs there and 1,107 birds total so I am pleased with the results. My blue pullet also took best of variety. One of my lil 4-H kids showed some birds out of mine and got best of breed junior and reserve champion featherleg for the junior division.

If it is a good deal I don't mind paying the asking price! But I have never offered asking price for anything and this didn't mean I couldn't afford it. It just meant I loved the art of the deal I always appreciate someone making me an offer/it makes the transaction fun for me negotiating price and hearing all the good and bad pitches, learned my negotiating skills from my Grandad & my Pops,my Grandad was a farmer I used to love watching him barter or make a deal same with my Pops. But like Junkmanme says if its a good deal don't let it get away/well thats all I got to say about that!! Have fun hatching all those beautiful chicks!!

So, all of the items shown do not usually come with it .... they are sold separately?
I suppose that would push the price up considerably.

ETA: I was just thinking .... I could make back some of the purchase price by selling my 2 HovaBators! Yeah, I think I can do it!

It looks identical to 2 of the units I bought this spring/summer... they're set up for emu/ostrich eggs. The trays look like they have the dividers that cradle the larger eggs. I used mine all spring/summer to hatch chicken and duck eggs and simply removed the emu egg dividers... they just attach with a couple of screws/nuts.

I'd say if you want it then go for it! We sold many of the chicks and ducklings I hatched out which helped me re-coup the money I paid for the units.

Good luck... hope you'll let us know if you got it!

GOOD for YOU, Kathy !!!

So, picking it up on Nov. 10......and allowing time to clean, test, etc., you should have some CHRISTMAS chicks!
