Has anybody ever used a spot check digital incubator thermometer? I am looking for somthing that I can put in the bator that I can trust. Dont mind spending 50 bucks or more if I have to. I have a springfield and accumeter thermometer and I dont think that either is consistent. Somtimes they seem to be reading right and then they may be a couple deg from each other. They have got me worried sick and scratching my head.

please, just do a quick search on Brinsea Spot Check...I think you'll find just about everyone in favor of them. I have one myself, and wouldn't trade it for NOTHIN'!!

Yep, love it. The first one I had went bad, but I think someone hit the probe on something-DH is a electronics technician and tried to fix it, but the little wires were all broken up in the probe part.

The second one I got kept blanking out on the screen, till DH figured out that the battery wasn't being held against the contact well and he put a piece of cardboard in there. It works beautifully. I love this thermometer. No need to deal with household ones when you can get one that's made for the job. It's super accurate and reads every 1/10 of a degree as it happens so that takes getting used to, the precision of it.

BTW, it's also called the Egg-Temp. Same exact unit. One by Brinsea and one with the GQF name on it.
