Spot the Rooster!

Foggy is easily my hardest bird to photograph - I just went out and snapped the last 3 pics.

Thanks! What I've googled on leghorns made me think she was a pullet too. It seems like leghorns get big red combs regardless of gender and hers was not taking off the way I'd expect a cockerel's to do. The pics on this blog post are from chicks the same age - and Foggy definitely looks closer to the pullet IMO.

So Cordelia the Gold Laced Wyandotte, and Karen the Speckled Sussex are both still suspect, eh? Maybe I need to start dragging myself out of bed early enough to see if I can catch the crowing. Not an easy task for this night owl ;)

If they are 10 weeks of age, the only one I would "suspect'' is the Speckled Sussex. But I really think they are all pullets. Was it a clear, loud crow "I suspect not at 10 weeks" or just kinda sounded like a crow? Female chickens can make noises that sound very similar to crowing. Especially in flocks with no rooster this is common. My gut says you have all pullets. Any other flocks near you? Could it be somebody else's rooster?

Agreed.

It has definitely been a proto-crow. I'm not even the one who has heard it (very deep sleeper). We have a rear neighbor with a flock that we've heard clucking for the last year or so but have never heard a crow before. It would be great if we have all pullets. Thanks for giving me hope. I'll update again once we know for sure.

Some of them have pretty big wattles.

I think your speckled sussex is a boy. Can you post a couple more pics of it (side shot straight on)?

Your EEs (they aren't Ameraucanas) both look to be definitely girls.

I also think your gold laced is probably a boy.
The gold laced looks pullet to me!
