Hi all,
My husband and I have been processing our first batch of meat birds and have come across some weird spots on the necks of a couple of our birds. First of all, is it normal for Cornish cross to have such lumpy neck meat? They have evenly spaced lumps of muscle on the left and right of their necks, and on those lumps we found tiny dark spots. There isn‘t any other discoloration on the birds as far as we can tell, we check the guts and haven’t found any spots or tumors. Is this normal, and safe to eat, or are our birds diseased? I haven’t been able to find anything remotely close to this online. Picture attached.
thank you
