Thank you! We have over 100 birds of various species and he is absolutely my favorite! He is 5 months old and weighs about 50lbs. He is so sweet, he follows me everywhere. Unfortunately he is a broad breasted hybrid so I'm afraid he will not live long. That being said we are in northern Florida and I suspected a type of pox. Some of my chickens had it 2 years ago but it was mainly on their combs and looked different. I vaccinated my entire flock and only lost a couple of birds. My guineas and ducks were unaffected. I have tried researching it but can't find much info about it in turkeys. Will he revover? If he does recover will he be consumable? Since I fear he will not live long I certainly do not want him to go to waste.Hi! First things first, he's a gorgeous boy! Wowza!
I think it could be dry fowl pox, where are you located?
There is a herpes virus that looks similar to Fowl Pox and can be fatal. You might try searching in the Emergencies forum.Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you so much! Here's an article from a few years ago. I would support him with nutri drench in the water, 5 days on and 5 days off. If you can give fruit he likes for vitamin c dose, make sure he's eating well.
