Spotted hen

I would 100% say a Mottled Orpington. I'm holding off on the English part because it's not showing much in the way of floof.
How old did they say this bird is? Did it recently molt? I ask because the tail is still coming in. There's also down showing in the saddle area.

Hi! Supposedly she’s been laying since last spring. They didn’t tell me how old she is, she also didn’t say anything about if she recently molted. :(

Has she laid since you got her? If / when she lays the eggs might provide some clue as to her age.
I'm a wee bit worried she might actually be a young he.
Orpington hens often have bigger combs than most hens, but this one seems a little big even so... and quite red.

No she hasn’t, we just got her yesterday. The person who gave her to us says she lays light beige eggs. She’s very calm and well mannered, she lets you pick her up without a fuss and doesn’t fuss when you’re holding her. If she is a he , then that’s one really friendly rooster.

I am suspicious as well. I think I might see pointed saddle feathers...

Hmm. Now I wonder if the person has too many chickens to keep straight which one is which, or if they were deliberately lying 🤔
I think this too, I had 3 roosters from some eggs my chickens hatch and she took all 3. And she said she would trade me a hen, then it turned out to be a rooster, but she swears it lays eggs 😂
