So...maybe I'm a bad chicken mama
sad.png

I had 8 chicks in a pretty large brooder box. Watched them and took them out daily.
Shortly after we moved the chicks into the new chicken coop (around 5 weeks) we noticed that one of the RIR's had a really funny walk.
Her right leg and foot are just fine. When she walks, it looks like she has no control of her foot below where the knee would be. She is not able to stand on her right foot, she will take a step on the right side and put weight on the "knee" and the right foot sort of turns behind her. She almost walks in a circle. We've been giving her extra calcium, but not sure what is going on.

She still get's around well, hangs out with the rest of the hens & 2 ducks, doesn't get picked on.

I'll post a pic tomorrow night.

Any ideas? Will this hurt her?

Thanks!!!

I don't know if it would hurt her, without seeing a picture (though I would guess yes), but it sounds like she'll be at a disadvantage to bullies or predators. Have you tried a splint?
I have no idea what is going on with your chick, but I hope you get some other, more knowledgeable answers.
