I have a 1 1/2 week old chick with spraddle leg that we took home from a local feed store. They were going to just put it down at the end of the day but my kids saw it, end of story. We used different methods of bracing to pull her legs together as soon as we brought her home. In the brace, she can now stand and hobble around, but she still turns one leg around completely backwards, and there seems to be nothing we can do to get that leg facing front. (She does this while in the brace.) We have had her in the brace (either elastic bands or vet tape) constantly since we brought her home. If she's out of the brace, she can still hobble around if she's got traction. If she panics or is on a smooth surface, she's splayed out again.
Any ideas for "advanced spraddle leg treatment"?? What's going to happen to this girl as she gets older?
