You are a life saver!!! Agonizing all morning doing the band aid method on a silkie!!!! I was dreading redoing it once again, going to give this a try!!
I am trying this on a turkey poult, it has had such a rough start. The day it hatched it was experiencing flip over syndrome, and then he was recovering when a cat knocked their unit over and he got out and now has the separated legs and laying on his tummy. We made him the brace so we will see. I have high hopes.
Take a normal size rubber band & put it around one leg. roll the rubber band or wind it up into a figure 8 & slip the other loop over the other leg. If the length is still to long, allowing the legs to spread to far apart, remove one side & wind it some more till it keep the legs where they should be. very much like what they did above, but rubber bands work too. Works real well in featherleg birds, but as long as the loop isn't to big it won't come off clean legged birds either
