I have three 2 day old Americauna chicks. Yesterday & this morning before church they were all fine. Now, one of them is laying flat on his belly, with his head straight out & his legs are all splayed out to the sides. When he tries to move, one of his feet grabs the side of his head. His joints on his little legs look swollen & his feet don't look quite right. Another one has started too, but so far it's only one leg. The third one is perfectly normal. I have separated them, because the well one is stomping the crap out of the 2 crippled ones. What is this, & what do I need to do to fix it?

Use a band aid to keep them together, the pad part of the band -aid should be inbetween his knees - keep it on for three days

Make sure the bedding you have them on isn't slippery...no newspaper, for example. Something they can get good traction on.
