spray paint the brooder?

my dad and i built a bigger better wood brooder for the chicks, is it safe to paint it if i let it dry about a week or so before i put them in it? i know they are sensitive to toxins in the air. thought id ask if any of you have done this? i made what appears to be a chicken crid! and i wanted to paint it pink...cause theyre hopefully going to be all girls!! haha

I wouldn't hesitate.A week or so in the Sun and dry air should remove whatever.Or why not brush on house paint. Its for outdoors and washable....cva34
