Spring 2017 first timers post!

Awww! That blonde one with the odd spots in the back is so cute!!! What's her name? I'm definitely gonna have to keep up with how she turns out

Yes, she is unusual in her markings compared to the others and was the last one I picked out. Her name is Cluck Norris (Cluckie). I am interested to see what she will look like feathered. My favorite is Lucy (Rhode Island Red) though, she is so curious about everything and the first one to run to me when I put my hand in the brooder. She was also the first to roost and loves to try to hit the hanging thermometer and make the metal "ding".

Hubby-man is home today working on the coop. I am jealous. Here it is so far.

No kidding on the chicken math!! My husband said we'd get 3 chickens to start with (ha!). We currently have 22 & 8 more arrive beginning of May. We are SUCKERS!

Same, we said no more chickens and we have about 11 more coming on may 4.

We started out wanting 8 got 9 because I didn't want to leave one behind and now we are getting 6 more to make 15 lol

Too true on the chicken math.
We started out ordering 5, then added 1 more to make 6, why not right??? Then we thought oh but 8 would be soooo much better, so 2 more added. Then I thought well we've already got 8, why not 12....well long story short we have 15

We ended up buying a pre fab coop for temp houseing but never set it up, returned it for a bigger one, set it up and still ended up building our own. So 2 coops, and 15 chickens later here we are.

Getting my chicks next week, also a complete first timer. Still painting the coop (oops). Getting a Buff Orpington, a Plymouth Rock and a Silver Wyandotte. Have my brooder set up ready..!
