Spring 2017 first timers post!

Mine are the same way. So cute. They got tinny tail feathers I love them all ready. Still trying to get them to not be scarred of me I guess it develops over time..

Another first-timer here, impatiently waiting for April to get here! I'm getting 7 chicks from Meyer:

Golden Laced Wyandotte
Australorp
Welsummer
Partridge Cochin
Blue Splash Marans
Barred Rock
Meal Maker Surprise

They'll be in the brooder indoors with a mama heating pad for at least the first few weeks before moving outside.

We're retrofitting an unused outbuilding to serve as our coop. The space between the building and garage will be their run, as it's mostly already fenced.

Can it just be April 24, already???

I have been putting feed in my hand and placing it in the box (or when I have them out in the pen I sit on the ground and feed them). They run over and attack my hand.

I have also been taking them out of the box one at a time and holding them and just talking to them.

The girls have been daytripping out to their run.

I have to cover a few gaps in the coop with hardware cloth,but the weather is gorgeous, so I think they are moving out there this week.

Welcome to the thread! We can all learn from each other. I ordered from Meyers too with some of the same hens. Mine are due to hatch out 3/13 which is just 12 more days but who's counting
