Spring 2017 first timers post!

Totally new to this board and to having or own chickens. Just received our coop and our chicks are now ranging in age from 5 days to 2 days old. We currently have 18 total and 8 more due to arrive early May. We opted for a complete menagerie to see different personalities, colors and breeds in action.
3 Silkies
3 Delawares (1 is a rooster)
2 Barred Plymouth Rock
1 Black Asian
1 ISA Brown
1 Salmon Faverolle
2 Buff Polish
1 White Crested Blue Polish
4 Buff Orpington

Coming in May
3 Easter Eggers
3 Golden Laced Wyandotte
2 Colombian Wyandotte

We seem to have a chick buying problem. Did not realize until yesterday we could suffer from this affliction!

They are in a brooder in my office, but thinking of moving them to the coop after reading the many threads on here. Oh and we're in TN!

Welcome to the BYC and this thread. Honestly from what I have seen its a common affliction that many of us suffer from and unfortunately there is not really a cure .....but I am not looking very hard for one. I currently am suffering from 19layers, 4 broilers, 4 ducks and in a few weeks will have 2 turkeys and 2 geese this doesn't even go into the rest of the animals in the household so you are in very good hands and don't worry no one even tries to get to step 2 because none of us see it as a problem. BTW would love to see pictures of your flock

I would scrap the poop boards and go deep litter, but I am lazy and cannot imagine cleaning poop everyday

Gary and wydflwr: Have you forgotton about my bug phobia? Creepy crawlies in my coop would freak me out so I must try the poop boards first. If they get too annoying MAYBE I'll try the deep litter.

Well it's good to know I'm not completely insane - so I guess I may as well tell you we also have 8 rescue cats, 3 rescue dogs, and a Muscovy duck (male) that has decided to make us part of his daily life. We'll also be getting 3 Toulouse Geese and a few other ducks hopefully this week. Yep, just the beginning....

Just wanted to show progress on the coop. Not completely done, but liveable since they were getting pretty crowded in the kiddie pool.

Gotta love pallets building...
Here's mine, still a way to go for complete by I moved the babies in today
