In the Brooder
I just switched to sand as well. I'm finding it a breeze!!!
I have been using last falls leaf harvest both in the coop and out in the run, the girls tear it up scratching and digging.
Began letting them free range and realized they have no respect for boundaries..... So much for flower beds around the house... lol
but it's 97 degrees out today, what can I do to make sure they're not too hot? I put ice in their water to make sure it doesn't get hot and the coop is in the shade but I'm so worried about them. They're Rhode Island reds and old English bantams and I've read they do well in the heat but I've also read that chickens don't do well with over 90-100 weather...
