Spring 2017 first timers post!

Finally started on the coop tonight! It is seeming like it will actually take less work than I thought! Our chicks are almost 4 weeks old so I am trying to get it done asap. Also hoping we find a new home for 3 of our 7 soon because we only have room for 4 in the coop (converting an old dog house a friend built.)

@Treerooted how are babies doing today is everyone doing better?

Yes! Thanks for asking

They all seem to be doing well, I think the MHP adjustment was a really good idea.

So I had a rough couple weeks with life and my chicks. I had 2 RIR chicks about 6 weeks old and one decided to go swimming when there wasn't a life guard.

Ah, sorry for your loss. I hope your new chicken eventually adjusts well with the others

Good luck! I've also got to get going on coop building but the weather is terrible this weekend so I'll have to hold off another week. But my chicks are only a week old and I built a large brooder.

10 week old RIR . Is this juvenile molt? Or is this lice/mites?
This does not look like molt. My parents raised chickens for years so I do remember some of the molting process and i don't remember seeing anything like that. We never had mites or lice so I'm not sure what it looks like.
Are you finding feathers around the coop or run or yard (basically any place the chickens are aloud)?
