That is -17°C! - Or in other words lousy cold! 🥶🤧
What do your birds think about this temperatures?

They are out and about in the run. They seem like it is no big deal. I did clear a path through the run so no one has to stand IN the snow.

I left the pop doors closed yesterday since it was actively snowing with some wind involved. I am glad my coops are not filled to capacity. They did just fine.

That's in fact a good thing. My duck-house is at capacity (29 out of 30 seats) and if would try to keep them inside for just ½ day they would tear that place apart…

It seems the four Mallards used our pond only as a pit-stop and have continued their journey to the north. Maybe they are already on their way to you? - Didn't know that Daphne likes Mallard drakes too, otherwise i would have asked those boys if they know her. ;)
They might want to turn around and head back south. Yuck! :barnie

They actually did! - Today the Duckies were baffled and jealous, when a pair of wild mallards came in for a visit:

They checked out the place:

And then left flying, which made the Duckies turn greenish:

Now i don't know if i should be happy or worried: You are not allowed to take ducks out of the wild, but what if a wild duck decides to remove itself from the wilderness and settles into your duck-house? That duck is looking for a nesting site…
