I forget, are you getting a pair or trio? The blue salmon or the salmon boy?

Fingers crossed I'll be getting some from Leisha later this summer too. Also working on getting some standards.

Gotta love these silkies though. Can't see a thing.

So easy to catch. The fav chicks run everywhere when you try to get them.

About the same. But not heavy rain, just showers later Sunday night into Monday. Maybe Tuesday. Shouldn't cause any problems daytime Sunday.

he's selling the HT blue salmon boy and 2 of the girls to me, so those are probably siblings. he was going to sell me the Oxley boy too but i told him to hold onto him a little longer as a second roo/lookout for his main breeder till he is sure it is not breeding his girls. when Henry goes to send me the HT trio in a few more weeks if he has made up his mind i may take that boy too!

I'm getting a salmon pair from Chickn tomorrow at the Hampton Falls swap. and i have my Chloe-mahogany fav, who needs a mate so i'll be putting her in with them after they go through quarantine.

if anyone is going to have bantam salmon faverolles chicks (prefer pullets) at Shay's swap i'd love to get some more!

eta: yeah, i know about trying to grab silkies and fav chicks! the little cockerel fav is a pain in the rear when i try to go for him. the silkie runs but knows it will be caught!

I have the 11 chicks. First I thought I had 8 boys, 3 girls. Then it looked like 3 boys 8 girls! Now there are 2 questionable ones - the splash and another that's either a really light blue roo or off color pullet. So basically I'm not 100% sure what I have.

Laura will have pairs. She has some really nice birds!

I have a truly gorgeous pair of Black East Indies ducks that I'm trying to decide whether to keep or sell. Would anyone be interested? I've come to the conclusion that $45 and the promise of a loving home is what it's worth to me to let them go (and even then I'm still not sure!)...

This pair were bred by Shawn Streeter and were the best he had available when I bought them last November (the male almost wasn't for sale because he's so good looking!). They are definitely show quality and ready to be entered! They are last year's babies, so they've started breeding but no eggs quite yet. Their names are Apollo and Calliope and they are tame but not particularly friendly - i.e. they will come up to you if they think you have worms for them, but otherwise steer clear of people. Calliope loves chasing my dog's tail though. They get along great with the chickens, and snuggle a bit with my slightly grumpy silkie hen at night (much to her chagrin... I get the impression she thinks they are annoying, noisy kids). They are also inseparable... they get very upset if they lose track of each other for even a moment! Believe it or not, they also smell REALLY good! Who knew ducks smelled so great?

So, does anyone want to promise me that you'll take good care of this lovely pair of sweeties? They are wonderfully adorable, and part of me really wants to keep them, but their tendency to dabble in every bit of water they can find makes a lot more mess for me.

If I don't get any interest I'll just keep them - I'm so torn!
